ok i put the background images into after effects and i didn't really like the look of the compared to the black that i thought was going to be good. but i feel that it was a good idea to research some backgrounds. i was looking to get a background with a normal look but again with a freaky feel.

Why not try a blurred out background that makes it look like a shallow depth of field for the final thing? That might help avoid distracting from the action but give more atmosphere at the same time.
