london tube 2020

this is pretty much the poster i think it looks pretty cool. the tube stations are bigger to show the person what going on. the tube line used is lit up. the info see easy and strait forwards. it shows that the ticket is stored on the card when purchased.

LONDON tube 2020

I started thinking more about where surface computing could be in the future….
So I came up with one of the biggest things in our lives transport. Surface computing could be put in train stations bus stops and tube stations etc.
I came up with the idea of making a poster about the London tube. Because I feel that surface computing would make it so much easier to travel around London. I also feel that people are going to use card format of payment a hell of a lot more and credit cards etc are going to be able to do a lot more. So when you place the card on the screen the computer will store you travel info into the card to go through the barriers, no losing of tickets just have you card in you wallet or purse. The London tube is so hard to hack when you are there the surface computer is fun easy and very quick to use. All you do is touch the destination you want then the computer does the rest. Shows you info on the journey route price etc. then place you card on the screen and your away.
My poster is pretty much a screen shot of the computer screen with a destination picked and the tube line showed and all other lines bulled out. Both the tube stations will have a flashing/moving swirl around them.

SURFACE COMPUTING AT HOME

This is a mock up of an idea of where surface computing could be going. putting them anywhere in the kitchen. getting menu's getting resipies for cooking, finding out everything you need to know about whats in you food, finding out where your kinds are on google earth, ordering things needed of the internet, but the surfaces can blend in and cant be seen till touched, playing games online, watching tv, using it as a comunication devise...so many thing that they can do with surface computing.

MORE RESEARCH 2020

i has research this before but with no videos. i think its crazy how you can just do what you want on the touch screen unlimited things to do. make music watch movies...... this hands on touch is just really social and fun.

2020 MICROSOFT TABLE MORE

Here is another video on the microsoft table. i think it is incredible that you can order food etc over the internet, then just put your credit card on it and it pays!! i think this is going to be massive in the future i think i will try use this in my poster but advance it somehow. i think these are going to take over with the hands on approch. for my 2020 project i am going research in what they could do with this technolegy. for example have all the surfaces in a office to be like this. in the kitchen, on the floor of your house etc.....

MICROSOFT

this is some info i found about the microsoft table. it is very interesting.
"Surface is essentially a Windows Vista PC tucked inside a shiny black table base, topped with a 30-inch touchscreen in a clear acrylic frame. Five cameras that can sense nearby objects are mounted beneath the screen. Users can interact with the machine by touching or dragging their fingertips and objects such as paintbrushes across the screen, or by setting real-world items tagged with special bar-code labels on top of it.

Unlike most touchscreens, Surface can respond to more than one touch at a time. During a demonstration with a reporter last week, Mark Bolger, the Surface Computing group's marketing director, "dipped" his finger in an on-screen paint palette, then dragged it across the screen to draw a smiley face. Then he used all 10 fingers at once to give the face a full head of hair.

With a price tag between $5,000 and $10,000 per unit, Microsoft isn't immediately aiming for the finger painting set. (The company said it expects prices to drop enough to make consumer versions feasible in three to five years.)

Some of the first Surface models are planned to help customers pick out new cell phones at T-Mobile stores. When customers plop a phone down on the screen, Surface will read its bar code and display information about the handset. Customers can also select calling plans and ringtones by dragging icons toward the phone.

Guests sitting in some Starwood Hotel lobbies will be able to cluster around the Surface to play music, then buy songs using a credit card or rewards card tagged with a bar code. In some hotel restaurants, customers will be able to order food and drinks, then split the bill by setting down a card or a room key and dragging their menu items "onto" the card.

At Harrah's locations, visitors will be able to learn about nearby Harrah's venues on an interactive map, then book show tickets or make dinner reservations.

Microsoft is working on a limited number of programs to ship with Surface, including one for sharing digital photographs.

Bolger placed a card with a bar code onto Surface's surface; digital photographs appeared to spill out of the card into piles on the screen. Several people gathered around the table pulled photos across the screen using their fingertips, rotated them in circles and even dragged out the corners to enlarge the images — behavior made possible by the advanced graphics support deep inside Windows Vista.

"It's not a touch screen, it's a grab screen," Bolger said.

Historically, Microsoft has focused on creating new software, giving computer programmers tools to build applications on its platforms, and left hardware manufacturing to others. (Some recent exceptions include the Xbox 360 and the Zune music player, made by the same Microsoft division that developed Surface.)

For now, Microsoft is making the Surface hardware itself, and has only given six outside software development firms the tools they need to make Surface applications.

Matt Rosoff, an analyst at the independent research group Directions on Microsoft, said in an interview that keeping the technology's inner workings under wraps will limit what early customers — the businesses Microsoft is targeting first with the machine — will be able to do with it.

But overall, analysts who cover the PC industry were wowed by Surface.

Surface is "important for Microsoft as a promising new business, as well as demonstrating very concretely to the market that Microsoft still knows how to innovate, and innovate in a big way," said Michael Gartenberg, an analyst at Jupiter Research."

MOBILES 2020

The device works with the sense of smell, sight, hearing and touch. The user experiences communication on a multi-sensory level. It can detect, transmit and emit smell. It can also radiate colours, light and temperature from a caller's environment. This is what moblies could look like.....

EA skate

This is a game that i got for the x box 360 EA SKATE. as a skateboarder i have been waiting for this game for a long time. i think the game has been put together extremely well. all the skateboarders on it are pro,s from all round the world. on the game they all have there own styles (nice touch). the graphic on the game are amazing, high quility. The youtube link is some footage of the skaters and gameplay also an interview with the directers.

ABOUT ME

i want the a4 poster to be clean looking and colourfull based round my apperance and personality. The images on the poster will all be of me doing different things i love and hate, also my hobbies wearing different clothes. This will make it unique because it will look like all different people untill you look closer. i want to make the images striking but with humour.
i want to make it look like there are like 10 of me in a white room, some close some far away. i need to sort out the layout for that.
things i can do for the images.SKATEBOARDING, GOING OUT DRINKING, X BOX 360, EATING PIZZA, MUSIC, FAMILY, FASHION, MY SKATEBOARD SPONSORS, TRAVELLING, LEEDS, ECT.
