computer arts blog
i chose an article called the mtv logo and its in the magazine computer arts. i chose this because i love the channel mtv and im interested in the background of it.it states that mtv started on august 1st 1981. i never thought it would have been this old? when mtv arrived it was quite in your face tv, this appealed to 12 to24 year olds and that the rebellious teens loved it. i think this has change a lot, not the fact that it isn't in your face but the age range, its more like 8-50 now days i would say. it says that the logo from then on was more like a brand and was used on clothing videos and games. the logo is still used in the same way today. it is probably one of the most recognized logos of the world. the logo was designed by a company called Manhattan Design a small and no very experienced company. the mtv logo is such a big thing to do with the channels success its "culture defining".
DIGIT magazine blogs
for the first analysis i chose digit magazine because i am i keen movie watcher and interested in the way films are made also the photography and the web design that they put in the magazine also.i chose the sin city article because i have seen the film and was very impressed with the graphics, editing and the way it was directed by Robert Rodriguez of onces upon a time in Mexico and spy kids.the article was very interesting to read it states that the hole film was done in green screen and they worked on it for eight mouths. i think this is amazing how much hard work they must have put in, there was over six hundred effects shots!i find it amazing how they created all the textures for the building by research different alleyways around the world and creating different effects with water for the scenes. i see now how much planning goes into green screen movies.they have to make it so that if the is a door in one shot they cant forget to put it in another.in the movie i think it is cool when you can see a bit of colour for the characters blood for example there was 170 shot modifications in colour. you can see from the movie the director had a clear view of what he wanted before he started.
fish animatioon
this is a little play around in stop frame animation i did, its quite funny. but a little fast in places.
evaluation
Evaluation
In this brief we had to produce a animation to show the emotions between characters, it had to be between 10 and 30 seconds long.
I chose do stop motion animation because after using all the different techniques of animation I found stop motion strait forward and fun to do. I thought that you can get great effects from it after doing research on you tube and various web sites. I chose to use two iPods and headphones for my animation because I thought it would be a bit different. I think that the animation look good but I could have made the motions a little clearer and smoother. I feel you can get the emotions of the first iPod and the head phones well, the iPod at the start happy when the headphones plug into it. It plays the Lily Alan song smile. Then the nervous feel when the other iPod enters the shot then the iPod seems sad when it moves out of shot leaning forwards, like having your head down. I think it clear that you can see the headphones want to go to the new iPod but feels bad for it. The new iPod is confidant and powerful in this animation when it is showing of what it can do. I feel that the sound effects work well, without those the animation is a little boring and not as easy to follow. If I could change some things it would be the background because there is a black line on the wall, I don’t think it looks to bad but would be better without it. Another thing is that I would use white tack instead of blue tack to move the headphone character, in some scenes you can see the blue on them all so on the back of the iPods.
Over all I am please with the way it looks and the way the character move and react.

working on my animation

after been in the stop motion studio. i took all the picture files and exported them as a quicktime file.
i then dropped it in to final cut pro to touch it up and ad all the sound effects to it. i downloaded all the sounds and songs of the internet. it took a long time to find the write sound for the ipods. here are some screen shots of my work on final cut.
more stop motion..
this is more on the lines of what im doing with the ipods.
think using solid objects has a great effecti like the idea of doing retro games. you can get some feel of different emotions like frustration etc.
i think this animation is really unique because i think it is done half flash and half spot motion. it gives a really cool effect.
an extremely good example of drawing stop motion. this must take so long to do to this standard. but is and option of how to do my animation.
i found this good because i haven't seen this benen done before with candles. the pacman bit was really impressive.

research
this animation doesn't look as professional as the purple and brown but sill is very entertaining again using stop frame animation.
animation purple and brown
i love these stop frame animations. they have great humor.they were created by the guys at Aardman for Nickelodeon.
Purple and Brown are two comical stop-motion characters who live in a world populated by other equally weird and wonderful plasticine characters. In each episode, they greet their new friends with infectious laughter and an innocent curiosity, which always ends in one or both of them sustaining a considerable degree of injury.
i want to use this style in my animation.
